Comparative Clinical Study of Ketorolac Tromethamine and Daga^(¢ç)



Abstract
The contusion, sprain or muscle strain is the common problem to be met in the Orthopedic department. This study was aimed at evaluating the relative analgesic efficacy ard the degree of functional recovery by the Ketorolac tromethamine, compared with the Daga¢ç in the treatment of the sprain, strain or contusion.
Among 42 patients, Ketorolac tromethamine 10mg was orally administered 4 times a day in 21 patients and Daga¢ç two tablets in 21 patients, 4 times a day. Total period of treatment was 7 days.
The results were as follows:
1. Global efficacy was estimated as more than `good¢¥ in all of the patients. 2. Motion limitation was mild or none in every case.
3. Side effect was mild gastrointestinal problem in 7 cases but not so serious as to require the active treatment.
4. This study domonstrates that the Ketorolac tromethamine is an effective analgesic and anti-inflammatory drug with the only minimal adverse events.
